A series about the maverick bunch of men who volunteered for ‘special operations of a hazardous nature’ during World War Two. I produced directed and filmed the first and second films in the series. The first is about how their amateur beginnings up to the Vaagso raid, the second concerns the extraordinary raid on St Nazaire. The mixture of humour, bravery and pathos struck a chord and they were rated as one the best Channel Four programmes of the year.
