This was the first documentary in a new series for new directors called Metroland for Carlton Television. The subject had to be about some aspect of London and mine was this: a list film about vans and van drivers in London. There’s no commentary, no explanations, lots of static wide shots...it was made in the days when documentaries had a lot of style.
