1983: The Brink of Apocalypse

76 minutes

Made for Channel 4 and The Discovery Channel. This film was about an extraordinary and hitherto unknown sequence of events in the Cold War that almost brought about World War Three. It featured spies, misunderstandings and nuclear bombs. This was the first and only time I have ever made a film where what the contributors were saying had never been heard or written about before. It really was the first draft of history.

Winner of the Grierson Award, Best Historical Documentary 2008 and was nominated for several others.
